What You’ve Accomplished

- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline

- At least 3 years of directly related experience

- Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria

- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data

- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment

- Good problem identification and resolution skills

- Displays informal leadership characteristics

- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking

- Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills

You may have also acquired the following skills:

- At least 4 years of directly related experience is preferred

- Familiarity with ACI 318/349 and AISC Steel Construction Manual

- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

- Nuclear industry experience or previous Naval Nuclear program experience

- Civil / structural analysis, including familiarity with software tools such as ANSYS, GT STRUDL, or SASSI

- Familiarity with Seismic analyses and methods of determining seismic loading

As a Civil Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Products & Engineering Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. Under broad supervision, you will perform more complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity, and the development of new methods or resolution of conflicting objectives. This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $83,000 - $113,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
