to play a pivotal role leading portfolio management and capital markets. This includes financial leadership and optimization of SunVest’s growing operating portfolio, as well as overseeing structured finance and supporting the growth capital needs of the business.

As a senior executive based in our Chicago HQ, you will report directly to the CEO and work closely with other team members to oversee the financial performance of the operating portfolio, structure and execute complex financing transactions, identify and secure capital from diverse sources, and drive M&A initiatives that align with SunVest's strategic goals. Your expertise in project financing, relationship with capital sources, portfolio management, ability to drive M&A and channel partnerships will be pivotal to SunVest’s ongoing success, contributing to our sustainable growth strategy and the development of strategic plans for managing and improving renewable energy generation.
The ideal candidate will be capable of providing strategic and tactical leadership of these functions, including portfolio management and optimization, financing origination, underwriting, negotiation of terms, commercial leadership and execution through to closing. On an ongoing basis, the executive continues to proactively ensure compliance and optimization with the terms of the agreements as well as continuous management of partnerships and relationships.
- Lead and support financial optimization of the operating portfolio
- Strategic and hands-on execution of structured and project financings to successfully and optimally finance the business.
- Leadership of the Structured Finance team at SunVest
- Represent SunVest to collaborate with internal teams, advisors and financing sources to drive cross-functional collaboration to structure financing solutions.
- Become a trusted partner to build and manage a network of external financing relationships, including senior lenders, tax investors, advisors and other counterparties.
- Close construction financing, senior debt and tax financing transactions in response to project timelines, rather than having project timelines driven by financing.
- Primary responsibilities for day-to-day relationship management as a trusted partner to current and potential future financing sources
- Identify and close additional pipeline projects through acquisition or channel partnerships.
- With support, prepare and lead negotiations on terms and execute successful transactions to add additional pipeline or resources to support SunVest's growth.
- Develop a measurable business plan for the successful execution of the Capital Markets business function.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to ensure long-term success of the team.
- MBA or similar degree with a focus on finance, accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of financial leadership roles, preferably in the renewable energy sector, public accounting firm, or related industry.
- Demonstrated experience and established relationships in project finance, capital sources, M&A, and channel partnerships.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a high-performing team.
- Excellent financial acumen and competencies to support adaptability to changing market circumstances.
- Excellent understanding of market terms applied to day-to-day underwriting and project evaluation.
- Motivated to deliver consistent and seamless access to project and corporate (growth) financing.

The salary range for this role reflects the broad array of factors considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $225k-$300k
.
