Chemist- 2nd shift

Second Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm

This position creates quality, timely data that is used by customers to make equipment management decisions. Position directly supports customers and enhances customer loyalty.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This position will work with a team of other technicians to complete sample testing for multiple analyses. They will be expected to attend team meetings, shift handoffs, and receive and provide station updates.

· Responsible for analyzing approximately 850-1000 samples following quality control procedures provided.

· Responsible for keeping multiple instruments loaded, operating instruments, reviewing data, reporting data and performing maintenance on instruments as well as logging sample information into LIMS.

· This position is in the lab and requires being able to work on feet for 8 hours and lift 25 pounds periodically through the day.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field with 2-4 years’ experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Basic knowledge of the chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.

· Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

· Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and understand good laboratory practices.

· Strong computer skills.

DESIRED SKILLS:

· Understanding of ICP, FTIR, and GC practices.

· Microsoft 365 experience.

· Problem solving skills.

· Well-organized.

· Safety driven.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

· Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

· Works well in a team environment.

· Multitasking/time management skills.
