As a Chemical Engineering intern, you will report to the Process Safety Engineering Manager and be located at our Ogden location. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer.
- Establish and update the key Process Safety Information (PSI) for the Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes and department operations including the design basis documents (Process Design Basis (PDB), Controls Requirement Document (CRD), and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Developing Equipment and Instrument Specifications, reviewing and developing improved Preventative Maintenance procedures and templates, scanning and entering information in Leading 2 Lead database
- Approve production operating procedures, Job Safety Analysis, work standards, maintenance of equipment procedures, Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures and PM frequencies
- Support department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures for manufacturing operations ensuring the Change Control Process (CCP) is being followed
- Support the development, contribution to, and maintenance of electronic database/library containing historical and current technical articles, experimental studies and reports associated with the production/metallurgy of zirconium or zirconium-related subjects/processes
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Experience to support manufacturing and production processes and equipment
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
