Position Summary:
Job Options, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Certified Irrigation Technician to join our landscaping team at the San Ysidro Border Crossing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair, and will play a key role in ensuring efficient water management and healthy landscape conditions across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
•Install, inspect, maintain, and repair various types of irrigation systems (sprinklers, drip, controllers, valves, pumps, etc.).
•Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform timely repairs.
•Monitor system efficiency and adjust schedules/controllers for optimal water conservation.
•Collaborate with the landscaping crew to ensure systems meet the needs of planted areas.
•Conduct seasonal start-ups and shutdowns of irrigation systems.
•Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system layouts.
•Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED.
•Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) through the Irrigation Association or equivalent certification.
•Minimum 2 years of irrigation system experience.
•Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
•Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and blueprints.
•Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
•Must pass a background check and federal security clearance due to work location.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bilingual in English and Spanish.
•Experience with Rain Bird Irrigation system.
•Experience working in secure or government-controlled environments.
•Knowledge of smart irrigation systems and water-saving technologies.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
•Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
•Walk, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
