Key Responsibilities
•Equipment Transport: Safely haul telehandlers, manlifts, and other heavy construction equipment to and from job sites using lowboy, flatbed, or semi-trailer trucks.Riggs Distler
•Load Securement: Properly load, secure, and unload equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT cargo securement laws and preventing damage during transit.
•Equipment Operation: Operate telehandlers and manlifts on job sites to assist with material handling and placement, adhering to safety protocols.
•Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate driver logs, including hours of service, mileage, and fuel records, in compliance with DOT regulations.
•Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism on and off the road.
•Customer Interaction: Coordinate with dispatch and job site supervisors to ensure timely deliveries and address any issues or delays.
Qualifications
•Licensing: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for heavy haul/oversize loads.
•Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience hauling heavy equipment, including telehandlers and manlifts.
•Skills: Strong knowledge of load securement techniques, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
•Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading equipment.
•Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients.
•Work Environment: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at heights when operating equipment.
