· Technical Proficiency: Expertise in using a variety of hand and power tools, including but not limited to saws, drills, sanders, and planers, to cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.
· Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide the construction and installation processes.
· Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail to ensure precise measurements and high-quality finishes in all projects, from framing to fine woodworking.
· Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic math and geometry for calculating measurements, angles, and materials needed for specific tasks.
· Problem-Solving: Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during construction, such as fitting challenges or material limitations.
· Knowledge of Materials: Understanding of various types of wood, fasteners, adhesives, and other materials, including their properties and appropriate uses.
· Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including knowledge of safety practices and regulations in carpentry and construction.
· Creativity and Innovation: Ability to design and create custom pieces and solutions that meet client specifications and aesthetic preferences.
· High School or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.
· Reliable transportation and Drivers license required. Job site locations will vary- must be able to travel within state of CT/MA.
· Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively through a variety of platforms (Phone call, text, email, etc.)
· Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and tools, weighing 75 pounds or more.
· Capacity to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods, throughout a full workday.
· Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach various positions to access work areas, install fixtures, and perform tasks.
· Ability to safely work on ladders, scaffolding, or uneven surfaces.
· Proficiency in climbing ladders and scaffolding safely to access elevated work areas.
· Ability to work in a variety of outdoor elements with exposure to varying weather conditions.
