Calypso’s Plant & Equipment Mechanics are responsible for the upkeep and repairs of equipment and infrastructure including our attractions and buildings. Mechanics play a key role in ensuring the overall upkeep of our grounds, attractions, buildings, and equipment to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.

WORK SETTING
- Maintenance
- Repair/overhaul/setup
- Assemble & install mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair or replace machinery parts.
- Report to assigned work area on time and in compliance with safety requirements
- Respond to work orders for repairs/preventative maintenance daily as assigned
- Inspect and maintain rides and attractions to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components (pumps & motors)
- Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations
- Perform repairs on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure as needed
- This position is outdoors the majority of time
- This position requires frequent work in heat and sun.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and have knowledge of protective equipment. (Employer will train and certify)
- This position requires occasional work in or around water, water treatment chemicals, fumes/odors.

- Able to stand/or walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
- Fit and able to climb stairs on our 9 story towers.
- Able to work outdoors in the park at various locations.
- Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.
- Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
- Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
- Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.
- Able to assemble mechanical equipment
- Previous certification with TSSA is an asset.
- Employer will train and certify the right candidate.
- Equipment & machinery experience in conveyor, fans, blowers & hydraulics.
- Experience with water pumping equipment and motors.
- Able to troubleshoot bearings, seals and packing.
- Experience with Gel-coat or surface fiberglass work is an asset
- Knowledge of structural systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Good communication skills
