Now Hiring: In-Lab Calibration Technicians! JM Test Systems is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Calibration Technician to join our team located at our Baton Rouge Lab. This role involves working in a lab environment to perform calibrations, qualifications, and preventative maintenance on inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE). You’ll help ensure precision, safety, and compliance with top industry standards—all while delivering excellent customer service. •Perform calibration, adjustment, and verification of mechanical pressure gauges, pressure transducers, and digital pressure meters.
•Conduct nitrogen pressure testing of devices to ensure integrity and safety under pressure.
•Utilize deadweight testers, pressure controllers, and digital manometers for precise calibration activities.
•Interpret calibration procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings.
•Record calibration data and maintain detailed, accurate records in accordance with ISO 17025 or other applicable standards.
•Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pressure-related test equipment and instruments.
•Ensure compliance with company quality systems and safety protocols.
•Support continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements or tool improvements.
•Communicate technical issues clearly with supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
•Occasionally interface with customers to provide technical support or clarification on calibration results.
•Manage and monitor inventory of calibration tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring availability and proper storage.
•Maintain detailed and organized notes and records related to all calibration activities for audit and quality control purposes.
•Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members regarding calibration results, technical issues, and equipment status.
What we are looking for:
•High School Diploma or GED Required
•Familiarity with nitrogen pressure testing procedures and safety practices.
•Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, datasheets, and calibration procedures.
•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to troubleshoot basic issues an preform moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision.
•Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, or calibration software systems).
Preferred:
•Associate’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
•Experience with automated calibration systems or software (such as Fluke MET/TEAM or similar).
•Hands-on experience in repair, maintenance, calibration, or related technical field.
•Hands-on experience with mechanical and digital pressure measurement instruments.
