Performance Systems Development (PSD) is seeking a Building Performance Consulting Engineer to provide expertise to support design and delivery of building energy modeling for multifamily and commercial building projects as part of utility energy efficiency programs. PSD's energy modeling tools are based on OpenStudio/EnergyPlus. This role has a high degree of customer interaction through training, support, and building energy models. As such, experience in the energy systems found in multifamily and commercial buildings and how to model them is critical. This role is comprised of the following activities
•Support for building simulation tool requirements development as a subject matter expert.
•Curriculum and documentation development: create training materials for architects, engineering, and other participants in utility energy efficiency program about modeling design loads and energy savings in multifamily housing buildings.
•Instruction delivery: conduct hands-on workshops and virtual sessions (via Zoom/Teams) on 3D modeling, construction documentation, and energy savings for multifamily buildings.
•Build energy models for customer buildings as part of energy efficiency program delivery.
•Technical Support: guide users in resolving modeling conflicts, optimizing designs for energy efficiency, and applying utility program protocols to multifamily projects.
This position reports to the Manager of Building Performance Consulting and plays a key role in helping PSD provide technical expertise within the Engineering division.

What You Bring
•Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Construction Management or related field.
•3+ years using Revit in multifamily and commercial buildings.
•5+ years experience with the mechanical systems in and energy retrofit of multifamily and commercial buildings
•Proven experience developing technical training programs for adult learners.
Desired Skills & Qualities
•Experience in modeling multifamily and commercial buildings for incentive programs using a range of different tools including OpenStudio/EnergyPlus
•Knowledge of the basic physics underlying building science and the basic engineering equations underlying energy efficiency calculations
•Significant experience with OpenStudio/EnergyPlus based energy modeling
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Contributing to a positive team culture
•Certifications: Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit),
