Bobtail Driver

Position Summary

At Apache Oil Company, the driver of a fuel truck will be responsible for ensuring that our products are delivered safely and accurately to customers in a timely fashion. This position will require you to maintain professional composure and provide all customers with the highest level of customer service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

People

1. Works with cohesively across all departments and a staff.

2. Maintains positive and professional communication with all personnel.

3. Communicates with external customers and clients with respect.

Service

- Maintains accurate driver logs daily.

- Submits delivery tickets and driver logs to Fuel Billing Manager daily.

- Deliver materials to the customer, which includes assistance with unloading, and ensuring delivery of ticket with material, and collecting payment, if necessary.

- Assist Warehouse personnel with pulling and preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, verifying, staging and stocking incoming material as needed.

- Picking up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests, as necessary.

Quality and Safety

- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

- Fuel assigned truck as needed and reports any problems or issues to supervisor.

- Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations.

- Follows all safety rules while on the job. Report’s accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.

- Completes required and job-related in-services and applies the information as needed.

Financial

- Uses resources efficiently

- Submits reimbursements in a timely manner when needed.

Education Requirements

· Highschool Diploma or equivalent – Required

Experience Requirements

· Three years’ verifiable experience driving tankers, or flatbed trucks.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Minimum 23 years old

· Current CDL from state of residence

· No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years

· No Chargeable D.O.T. reportable accidents within the past three years

· Work closely and effectively with multiple levels of the organization

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies.
