Location: The Petroleum Club of Houston, Cigar Bar Job Type: Full-time
This is a daytime position with some nights and weekends.
Salary: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience) + tips
The Bartender is responsible for the preparation and service of craft cocktails and general bartending duties in the Petroleum Club's Cigar Bar. They will create exceptional member experiences by providing knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly service, ensuring satisfaction and contributing to the overall luxury experience of the club.
- Member Service: Establish rapport with club members and provide personalized service, learning their names and preferences.
- Cocktail Preparation: Develop, prepare, and serve a wide variety of craft cocktails, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Inventory & Supply Management: Maintain inventory of liquors, beers, and wines; track stock levels and ensure products are replenished.
- Bar Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar area at the start and end of each shift.
- Revenue Management: Meet budget goals and collaborate with Food and Beverage Supervisors to increase sales.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with supervisors and team members to maintain high operating standards.
- Food & Beverage Knowledge: Understand and be able to explain food and beverage offerings to club members.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety, etiquette, and protocol standards are met, including alcohol service guidelines and club policies.
- Strong knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail recipes.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- TABC certification required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable in a luxury private club environment with a multi-cultural team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of member and club information.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Lift and carry up to 15 lbs occasionally.
- Fluency in English; Spanish-speaking skills preferred.
- Full-time , with both day and night shifts.
- Must be available on weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of bartending experience.
- Able to work in a Cigar Bar with a Air Filtration System
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be TABC certified.
- Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
