Job Title: Automation Technician – Control Panel Maintenance

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of advanced electrical control panels and automation systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, an in-depth understanding of electrical schematics, and hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design, install, and maintain complex electrical control panels and automation systems
•Troubleshoot and repair control panel components, wiring, and integrated systems
•Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
•Perform system testing, calibration, and adjustments to ensure peak functionality
•Ensure compliance with safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA) and company procedures
•Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technicians on electrical and automation projects
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and technical work performed
•Provide technical support and training to colleagues as needed
•Stay current with industry technologies and best practices
Requirements:
•Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
•3–5 years of hands-on experience with industrial control panels and electrical systems
•Proficient in reading and interpreting complex electrical and mechanical schematics
•Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation
•Must be able to program Automation Direct PLCs
•Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
•Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA)
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
•Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends and on-call rotations
Preferred Qualifications:
•Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or similar certification
•Experience with control system programming or integration
•Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, and network communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
•Stand, walk, bend, and work in tight spaces as needed
•Use hands and tools to perform precision electrical and mechanical work

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
