The Automation Systems team is hiring an Automation Specialist. Expected pay range is $105K - $140K annually. This is a non-exempt position. Your actual level and base salary, however, will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the operations and automation teams
- Function as an HMI programmer and system integrator.
- Assist in optimizing production by designing, integrating, implementing, and configuring process control solutions, including:
- HMI Systems
- SCADA systems
- OPC Servers and communication
- Historians and Databases
- PC networking technology
- This job utilizes a knowledge of HMI/Scada programing to build and support our current HMI systems for control and surveillance.
- Daily job duties include detailed design generation, documentation, implementation, system integration, system testing, troubleshooting, and on-site startup
- Work closely with and receive technical direction from process and design engineers as well as operations personnel
- Work well with others while focusing on project execution and daily maintenance activities
- Promote the utilization of the automated control systems and develop and drive the implementation of the strategic automation plans to improve the overall system safety, environmental performance and reliability
- Recommend, maintain, and implement modifications to system hardware and software to enhance and improve process control systems
- Direct troubleshooting efforts of the HMI and SCADA systems, as well as monitoring operating status, and program changes
- Assist in coordinating and conducting, training of automation and operations personnel
- Complete other assigned duties as needed to support operations
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 10 years Control systems (PLC) or HMI/SCADA experience in the oil, gas, or chemical industry.
- Experience with HMI systems (Ignition, Iconics, Wonderware, Siemens)
- Experience with data historians like Aveva Pi
- Working knowledge of communication protocols and networking protocols such as OPC, MQTT, Ethernet IP, Modbus RTU / TCP.
- Ability to understand and implement Design Requirements, Detailed Design Specifications, Control Narratives and Software Test Plans
- Must have a valid driver’s license & a clean DMV record
- Must be willing to work overtime when required to minimize production loss
- Experience with alarm management and rationalization a plus
- Experience with other Oil and Gas well control systems (XSPOC, LOWIS)
