The Permian Production team is currently seeking an Automation Technician to support field operations in Midland, TX. This role focuses on maintaining and servicing automated equipment including RTUs, POCs, radios, MOXA, and OleumTech systems.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair RTUs (ROC and ABB).
- Provide field automation support and lead by example in EHS, maintenance and well optimization.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and engineering on high-priority projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 or more years of experience in automation/electrical installation and maintenance of automated gas well operations.
- Hands-on experience with ROC 800, ROC 107, ABB RMC, OleumTech, MOXA and ABB Total Flow.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across field automation systems (RTUs, radios, transmitters, motor valves, tank gauging, pressure/temperature controls).
- Ability to learn and maintain new devices and systems independently.
- Familiarity with well site automation and facility operations.
- Basic computer skills required; advanced skills preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Self-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a proactive safety culture by leading from the field, promoting the normalization of Stop Work Authority, and mentoring contractors to uphold core safety values.
