Position Summary
Support the company’s automation projects and maintain specifications for an automated environment. Maintain all process control systems and associated equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
•Ensure control system guidelines and standards are followed.
•Work closely with Project Engineers and Plant Managers to improve plant uptime, utilization, and efficiency.
•Consistently look for ways to improve plant uptime, utilization, and efficiency.
•Assist with project management on small control system projects and provide technical expertise.
•Maintain backup of PLC, variable frequency drive, Ignition, and Wonderware systems,
•Program and integrate plant automation systems.
•Set up and implement preventive maintenance procedures for process control systems (PLC).
•Identify areas to be improved in the process systems, make recommendations, and implement approved changes.
•Work closely with Plant E&I and contractors on new Electrical and Electronic installations.
•Monitor production equipment.
•Completes calibration, project, and equipment status reports.
•Diagnose problems when machinery malfunctions.
•Provide after-hours support.
•Maintain logs and records.
•Comply with Safety policies and procedures.
•Comply with all Integrated Management System policies and procedures.
•Assist other ACS personnel as necessary which may include travel to other plant locations.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by complying with documentation, procedural, and applicable regulatory requirements (such as safety, environmental and housekeeping.)
•Attend and participate in required training, trains others in areas of proficiency or expertise.
•Understands and follows all organizational policies, procedures, rules, and laws.
•Ensure safety and environmental policies are practiced.
•Must be able to work more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week on any shift or travel as needed.
•Willing to provide off-shift call-in and planned shift coverage when necessary.
•Consistently demonstrates prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.
•Communicates development and career goals to immediate supervisor and takes ownership of personal development plan.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and Experience
•Associates Technical degree or 5+ years’ Automation and/or PLC experience.
•Experience in instrumentation/automation/control systems engineering in a manufacturing or engineering environment required.
•Mechanical experience, specifically, knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Knowledge of various PCL equipment. (Rockwell Automation).
•Knowledge of control system network design.
•Knowledge of various VFD’s and VFD control schemes. (Hardwire, Ethernet, etc.).
•Knowledge of High-performance HMI and situational awareness display using ISA Standards.
•Knowledge of programming and integrating plant automation.
•Knowledge of various communication protocols (Ethernet IP, Modbus RTU, etc.).
•Strong technical knowledge.
•Strong problem resolution skills.
•Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
•Ability to respond quickly.
•Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner.
•Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc.
•Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, overtime, on call, and holidays as needed.
•Strong communication skills.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

•Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
•Working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
•Lift and carry up to 20 pounds continuously.
•Repetitive movements of both hands and both feet
•Requires continuous pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, bending, and above shoulder reach movements.
•Multi-tasked and work in fast paced environment
