The Automation Manager is responsible for developing and managing a business operation that increases sales, profitability, market share, and customer/employee satisfaction by directing shop operation and personnel development activities.
- Oversee valve automation business in Automation Control Shop .
- Manage and track all automation inquiries.
- Promote a safe workplace by visibly participating , encouraging, and considering safety in every aspect of daily activity .
- Manage shop supervisor and TISR’S Manage, perform and oversee inside sales activities including customer service, purchasing , inventory control, shipping and receiving as well as support to sales team .
- Monitor commitment to ship dates and manage OTD.
- Assure a consistent workflow by coordinating and supporting shop workers’ activity and functionality on a daily basis .
- Monitor activities of the TOPSR’ s .
- Conduct monthly meetings with TISR’S, TOSR’S, shop supervisors, and shop technicians .
- Review and approve all shop expenses.
- Manage shop labor charges.
- Motivate and challenge shop employees, delegate tasks to staff, monitor progress,
- Measure results and coach staff on performance.
- Maintain appropriate employee documentation files
- Develop a master schedule of jobs and prepare reports as required .
- Recruit and develop/train employees as needed to handle assigned tasks as needed .
- Establish relationships and provide prompt responses to customer requests using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills .
- Maintain confidential information pertaining to supervisory duties, operations, and co ntact information .
- Communicate and administer company policies to team as needed .
- Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.
- Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.
- Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately .
Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered .
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work .
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a related shop environment involving valve automation.
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience or demonstrated capability to supervise .
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications .
- Ability to learn MRC Global business processes and MRC Global specific software.
- Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status .
- Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries .
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
