What You Will Do:

- Serve as the technical authority for process control systems across gas transmission facilities.

- Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and procedures.

- Provide expert input during design reviews, incident investigations, risk assessments, and process hazard analyses.

- Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges and systemic issues.

- Research and integrate emerging automation technologies to improve reliability and performance.

- Collaborate with industry groups, vendors, and internal teams to drive best practices.

Who You Are:

You have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, or Controls Engineering.

- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation or eligibility.

- Minimum 15 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in natural gas transmission or similar industries.

Technical Expertise:

- Proficient in industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation).

- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, API, ISA, ASME).

Skills:

- Excellent communication and technical writing abilities.

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in oil & gas, particularly gas transmission pipelines.

- Familiarity with Solar and/or Baker Hughes gas turbines in compression applications.

- Expertise in instrumentation and fire/gas detection systems.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards for industrial control systems.

- Advanced understanding of networked control architectures and remote monitoring.

Working Conditions:

- Travel: 10% Domestic, some International

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
