Formed in 2016, Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is a public Community Choice Energy service provider serving approximately 270,000 residential and commercial customer accounts in thirteen Santa Clara County communities. SVCE’s mission is to provide customers with renewable and carbon-free electricity at competitive rates, and further accelerate decarbonization through deployment of innovative local programs. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Associate Finance, Risk, and Data Specialist works within the Finance and Administration (F&A) team in a matrixed opportunity to support the Finance, Data and Risk functions ultimately supporting SVCE’s decarbonization mission.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

This position reports to the Manager of Finance with a matrixed reporting to Data and Risk functions. This role does not supervise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Training Guidelines: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in finance, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related, quantitative field. A Master’s Degree in the aforementioned fields can substitute for up to one year of the required experience. A Doctoral Degree in the aforementioned fields can substitute for up to three years of the required experience.

EXPERIENCE: Relevant intern, project, coursework or work experience in data science, financial analysis or similar, ideally within an electric utility, cleantech field, software company, or similar industry.

Environment:

Work is performed in a typical office setting with exposure to computer screens and at public events (fairs, meeting rooms, farmers’ markets, etc.) with moderate noise and will require some evening and weekend work. This position is hybrid flexible to Sunnyvale, CA.
