Brief Description

Under broad guidance, the Maintenance Assistant supports operations by assisting with general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of equipment, pipelines, and facilities, to include pressurized pipeline, gravity mains, and pumping systems. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, housekeeping, painting and coatings, and helping technicians as needed. The position requires physical labor, safe work practices, and working in industrial environments.

- General maintenance experience includes the use of hand and power tools, fabrication, and pipefitting.

- Utility operations, industrial/mechanical repair, or construction

- Utility systems with emphasis on sanitary sewers

- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft products, and Asset Management software.

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

- Driver’s License from state of residence

- Federal and Virginia Port Authority Transportation Workers Identification Credentials for staff required to access the Army Base Treatment Plant

- DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) credentials for staff required to access and maintain facilities on Department of Defense installations. (NS & SS Interceptors)
