The Assistant Machine Operator supports the machine operator in the efficient processing of materials in our production line. This position involves assisting with labeling, removing finished products, and ensuring the smooth operation of the line . The Assistant Machine Operator will also be responsible for stepping in to perform the operator's duties when the primary operator is unavailable.
· Material Processing Assistance: Work closely with the operator to assist in the processing of materials, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
· Labeling: Responsible for the initial labeling of each coil or blank created, ensuring accuracy and compliance with production specifications.
· Product Removal: Remove finished products from the production line and ensure they are properly stored or prepared for further processing or shipping.
· Operator Relief: When the operator is unavailable (due to breaks, absence, etc.), step in to perform the operator's duties, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
· Quality Control: Assist in monitoring the quality of the materials and products during processing, ensuring they meet required standards.
· Machine Monitoring: Help ensure machine is operating correctly, report any malfunctions or issues to the operator or supervisor, and make minor adjustments as needed.
· Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure equipment is properly calibrated and functions according to safety standards.
· Cleanliness and Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area, including clearing away any debris, waste, or materials from the production line.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the operator, production team, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and address any challenges in the production process.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment is preferred.
· Ability to operate basic machinery and equipment with training.
· Strong attention to detail, especially when labeling and removing products.
· Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
· Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and report any issues with machinery.
· Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· Ability to stand for long periods, operate machinery, and perform manual tasks in a factory setting.
· Properly wear PPE and handle machinery safely.
