Job Description:

- Plans assembly procedures following job specifications

- Filing and grinding of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.

- Drills, taps, or reams holes.

- Aligns components and bolts them together.

- Installs moving parts, such as shafts or bearings, and works them to test free movement.

- Aligns and meshes gears to assemble system of gears.

- Installs mesh cloth, perforated plate, or urethane panels.

- Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.

- Uses hoists and cranes to move or assemble subcomponents

- Operates magnetic drills, grinders, reamers, and impacts, as necessary.

- Responsible for care and use of tools and returns to crib when done.

- Must be able to read a tape measure and prints

- Mechanical Assembly Skills

- Excellent Communication Skills

- Shop Math Skills

- Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
