Job Summary
The Assembler will report on site to the Bangs Fabrication Shop located in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
The position is responsible for receiving, verifying and preparing raw material; assembles, packages and ships fabricated products such as meter and regulator sets, manifolds and valve nests. Performs QC tests and inspects products and product sub-assemblies to assure compliance to specifications and standards. Uses hand and power tools.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
•Stages material for projects
•Becomes a certified fork truck operator including operation of 20-ton forklift
•Properly rig and load material and products
•Assembles and tests finished fabrications
•Prepare and load fabrications for shipment as needed
•Produce quality products in a timely manner resulting in satisfied customers
•Interact with coworkers in a respectful and professional manner
•Advises shop floor leader of discrepancies
•Maintains work area through good housekeeping
•Assists other work sections with work processes as assigned
•Maintains continuous improvement initiatives
•Additional tools required to utilize : Plasma cutting , pipe cutting and cutting torches
•General Knowledge of hand and power tools (EX: Pipe wrenches , impact gun, torque wrench and levels.)
•Interpreting bills of materials and engineered drawings while utilizing mechanical aptitude to achieve a completed product including troubleshooting material quality, measurements, orientation and functionality of specialty items. (EX: Regulators, ball valves both actuated and non-actuated)
•Safely utilizing and mastering air test procedures and equipment to meet required gas standards and business partners requirements. Will also acquire the process and procedures of hydrostatic testing.
•Maintain accurate and legible documentation for the following requirements PHMSA , TVC (Traceable, Verifiable and Complete) as well as ISO 9001established requirements.
•Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications for Position
•High school diploma or G.E.D.
•Technical or trade school
•Ability to prepare and maintain legible records
•Ability to work both alone (with little supervision) and under work coordination of others
•Physical ability to move finished goods and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
•Ability to work in noisy and dusty environment lacking climate control
•Ability to work with or in close proximity to industrial chemicals, solvents and cleaners
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
•Knowledge of computer systems
•Previous metal shop fabrication or manufacturing experience
•Previous experience with natural gas industry materials, assemblies
•Previous experience with fork trucks,
•Experience with mobile cranes and hoists
•Working with and following drawings, plans or technical instructions
•Ability to accurately measure lengths using tape measures or rules
•Ability to properly select and use hand and power tools
•Ability to successfully complete forklift training school and safely operate a forklift

Salary Range*:
$22.66 - $25.79
The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.*
