Position Overview

Person is responsible for the daily operation of a continuous flow HMA plant. Individual shall interact with customers, paving fore-people, aggregate and AC truckdrivers. Plant operator shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the HMA operation on a daily basis. Individual will also perform repair and maintenance duties that include cutting, welding and metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Assist the plant foreperson with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.

Inspect and perform maintenance on plant parts, including:

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Training will be provided upon hire.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic mathematical skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and may require protective equipment.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
