BCD is a metal shop based in Austin, TX. We specialize in high-quality custom fabrication for residential, commercial, and architectural projects. Our team values craftsmanship, collaboration, and efficiency — and we’re looking for a skilled Site Lead to oversee on-site fabrication operations and ensure our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
The Site Lead plays a key role in the success of each project — leading a team of fabricators in the field, maintaining quality control, managing site logistics, and ensuring communication flows smoothly between the shop, project managers, and clients. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in metal fabrication who thrives on leadership, organization, and problem-solving.
- Supervise and lead fabricators to ensure all work meets company quality standards.
- Conduct regular checks on fabrication accuracy and finish quality.
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to help the team grow their skills.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Oversee the maintenance and functionality of on-site tools, machinery, and trucks.
- Coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Ensure tools, trucks, and materials are properly stocked and ready for use.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the field and project management team.
- Communicate site updates, challenges, and progress clearly and promptly.
- Anticipate and resolve on-site issues to keep projects on schedule.
- Report any changes or delays to management for accurate project tracking.
- Manage crew schedules and task assignments to maximize efficiency.
- Track and report time, materials used, and any on-site changes or variances.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and on deadline.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of hands-on metal fabrication experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on-site.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and fabrication safety practices.
- Experience with project management software or scheduling tools.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions on-site.
