Architectural Draftsperson
Argent Fabrication is an Architectural Metal Fabrication company in Seattle, WA. Renowned nationally, we specialize in custom architectural metal, kinetic architectural and produce the TK Collection in partnership with Olson Kundig.
Role Summary :
The drafts person’s primary role is to create schematic, submittal, manufacturing and fabrication drawings. The drafts person will work directly with project managers to develop drawings for various stages of the production process. They will represent the company, contacting the customer or designer to develop design solutions and clarify design intent to ensure the drawing process progresses. Once a project is approved for production, the drafter may assist with material, component and hardware ordering. During production processes the drafter will work with the project manager and fabricators to answer questions that may arise.
Responsibilities:
•Draft all phases of a project: design schematic, vendor drawings (water jet, plasma, machining, forming), in house fabrication drawings.
•Review design intent of perspective project with client, providing guidance on materials, finishes and processes.
•Assess feasibility of design and redesign projects to improve functionality, including : material, finish, structural integrity, assembly and installation logistics, shipping limitations, cost implications, safety hazards.
•Co-ordinate with architect, builder and client to refine design and installation processes to ensure project remains within budget.
•Manage procurement process for a given project.
•Estimate material and production costs of various design details.
Skills Required
•Technical understanding of production means and methods in metal and wood.
•Create shop and vendor drawings for in house production and out of house vendors using AutoCAD or similar software.
•Proficient in Solidworks / Auto CAD.
•Experience with Bluebeam beneficial.
•Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and associated programs.
•Strong erbal and written communication with team members, vendors and customers.

Pay: $38.50 - $55.30 per hour
