Apprentice Plumber/Gas Fitter

Apprentice Plumber/Gas Fitter - Midwest Electric and Generator is currently hiring an experienced gas fitter to work alongside our Master Plumber to complete the gas portion of automatic home standby generator installations and/or repairs. This position does require fieldwork. Must hold a current MN Apprentice license.

Primary Duties include:

· Run Natural and/or propane lines to the predetermined generator location

· Maintain and/or repair natural and/or propane lines connected to the generator

· Installation/repair/maintenance of valves and regulators connected to the generator

· Update job details in our mobile field service management app

· Perform dealer checkout and generator startup if needed

· Assist customers in setting up their remote generator monitoring account via Wi-Fi or Cellular connection if necessary

· Lead and manage the Gas Department crew during both Natural Gas and Propane Installations

· Onsite troubleshooting gas issues

· Estimating Natural Gas and Propane runs

· Pulling permit for installations

· Scheduling inspections

· Order materials when needed

· Company provided tools

· Company provided vehicle

· Be physically capable of bending, squatting, lifting and able to work in all temperature’s year round

· Be capable of lifting heavy objects – 50+ pounds

· Be capable of working in tight spaces

· Warehouse located in Elk River

· Majority of our work is within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities with occasional work in Duluth and other out of state areas

· Position is Full-Time, stable and year-round

· Maintain Plumbing license

· Be able to pass a background check and clean driving record

· Provide exceptional customer service in a presentable manner
