Apprentice Mill Maintenance Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mill Maintenance Electrician Apprentice to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure the safe, reliable, and effective operation and maintenance of Greenstone’s stationary electrical equipment. They will assist in the development, design, and scheduling of the maintenance activities at Greenstone Mine.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.

- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the supervision of a Journeyperson Electrician.

- Help install wiring and fixtures, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure safety compliance.

- Learn how to safely operate hand and power tools.

- Perform routine maintenance involving inspections, cleaning, and ensuring that electrical codes are being met.

- Assist with diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in the electrical systems of machinery and equipment.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Attend all required on-the-job training and complete the necessary coursework, including off-site trades education.

Required Experience and Skill Set

- Industrial work experience in Mining or another heavy industry is an asset.

- This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Certifications

Education

- High school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or combination of education and work-related experience.

- Pre-apprenticeship certificate or diploma in Electrical or a related trade is an asset.
