The API 510/570 Inspector is responsible for leading inspection of piping and fixed equipment, in addition to providing functional expertise related to Integrity Management (IM) within the assigned project(s). Emphasis is placed on quality of the work product and the efficiency of work execution. The API Inspector will work with customers to define project scope of service and develop project cost proposals in consultation with their manager. The API Inspector will help establish efficient and effective inspection programs by performing physical inspections and/or testing of components, documenting inspections and testing in a timely manner and submitting recommendations to resolve action items or deficiencies identified during inspections.
- Provide oversight, interpretation, auditing and approval of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) performed by others
- Will work with customers to define project scope of service and develop project cost proposals in consultation with their manager
- Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements of Company and Client programs
- Be responsible for ensuring that the inspection of fixed equipment and piping, including the application of relevant NDE and the recommendation of necessary rerating, repairs or alterations are in accordance with the applicable industry codes and jurisdictional requirements
- Periodically audit and evaluate examiners used for equipment examinations or NDE services
- Be able to perform routine monitoring programs, internal and external inspections to maintain the integrity of fixed equipment
- Have the ability to collaborate with the project manager to organize, prioritize, and execute a heavy workload
- The ability to lead multiple groups or teams across an area
- Additional duties as assigned- 7+ years of experience in fixed equipment and piping inspection
- Current API-510, API-570 certifications
- API 653 not required a plus but not required
- NDE certifications a plus but not required
- Project management and customer interaction experience
- Basic computer skills, preferred
- Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.) is preferred
