The Anchor Removal Lead is responsible for supervising and executing the safe removal ("chopping") of embedded and surface-mounted anchors from structural equipment and infrastructure, ensuring full compliance with North Slope and CCI safety, environmental, and operational standards. This position requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical skill, and leadership in field conditions.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

•Lead and perform physical removal (cutting, grinding, or extraction) of anchors from structural components such as skids, modules, pipeline supports, and concrete pads
•Supervise a small crew of technicians and laborers, ensuring safe work execution per scope and schedule.
•Evaluate anchor type, location, and removal method based on drawings, site conditions, and work packages.
•Perform anchor chopping using tools such as hydraulic saws, grinders, torches, or jackhammers—ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding structures.
•Work from engineered drawings and scopes of work to identify anchor types and removal requirements.
•Coordinate with site logistics, safety personnel, and other trades (electrical, structural, insulation, etc.).
•Plan daily work with consideration of extreme weather, cold exposure limits, and environmental controls (e.g., spill prevention, waste containment).
•Maintain and inspect cutting tools and removal equipment to ensure safe operation.
•Record daily removal logs, material handling, and verify compliance with client specifications.
•Document completed work with detailed field reports, including anchor removal logs, inspection notes, and tool usage.

•Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.

•Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
•Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
•Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
•Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
•Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
•Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Knowledge of anchor types (mechanical, epoxy, embedded), removal methods, and associated hazards.
•Skill in using power tools such as grinders, reciprocating saws, rotary hammers, and torches in compliance with hot work procedures.
•Ability to lead a team and make real-time decisions to keep work safe and efficient in harsh field conditions.
•Strong communication skills – both verbal and written – for interacting with team members, supervisors, and clients.
•Organizational ability to manage work scope documentation, equipment needs, and daily reporting.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
•Must be 18 years of age or older
•5 years Greater Prudhoe Bay supervisor/lead experience
Preferred Qualifications:
•OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
•40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
•Hot Work and Fire Watch certification.
•Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry certifications.
•First Aid/CPR certification.
•Previous experience working on the North Slope or in extremely cold environments.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. •MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
•LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
•HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
•VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
•RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
