Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front office analytical support for trading, structuring, valuation, analysis and asset optimization activities. The ideal candidate must have experience within the power markets across the United States, knowledge of financial and physical products with strong analytical and programming capability.
Job Functions•Work with the team to evaluate and develop innovative hedge strategies and analysis to maximize profit for all revenue streams (Energy, Ancillaries, Capacity, Options, Renewable products, etc) for REV’s portfolio of assets
•Provide support for portfolio management, position and valuation tools
•Provide asset valuation support for budgeting, acquisition and development activity
•Utilize market fundamental and statistical analysis to develop and assess trade/hedge ideas.
•Disaggregate risk of a portfolio into component pieces
•Assist with structuring and negotiating documentation for structured transactions
•Monitor market, industry, regulatory and ISO changes, and pricing trends
•Support fundamental power flow analysis for REV’s development project pipeline
•Build and support front office systems and tools
•Support capacity auction analysis and operations
•Ensure compliance with strategic objectives, hedge plans and risk controls
•Support Compliance, Risk, Regulatory, Development and other internal groups
Qualifications And Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Economics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science)
•One to five years of trading, structuring, and/or analytical support experience within the power industry
•Strong understanding of US power markets and trading products
•Analytic, modeling, and fundamental research skills including demonstrated capability writing and editing code, particularly Python, SQL and Git/CVS.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Ability to work on simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through
•Strong analytical problem-solving skills; tenacity, attention to detail and willingness to learn
•Experience with machine learning and complex optimization a plus
•Experience with power flow models a plus
