Job Description:
•Garland sheet metal company is seeking an experienced brake press operator with excellent setup skills
•Must have experience setting up and operating Amada Press Brakes RG50, RG80 and RG100
•Pay commensurate with experience. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday.
•Operates Di-Acro or Amada press brake in a safe and productive manner
•Sets up press brake to bend or form metal parts per customer specifications
•Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates
•Verifies dimensions of metal parts
•Devises and builds temporary dies
•Fills out "Operation Card" (located on the back of the travelers) with all required information for each individual job worked on
•Fill out job tickets and turn in on a daily basis
Required Skills, Education, or Experience:
•Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience
•Ability to read and interpret documents
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry
•Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
•The employee is frequently required to operate brake by standing on one leg and operate foot controls with the other leg. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
