We’re Hiring a Skilled Aluminum Die Corrector

Nielsen Moulding LLC in Gainesboro, TN, manufactures high-quality aluminum picture frame mouldings. As the only U.S. producer with in-house extrusion, anodizing, and painting dedicated to picture framing, we ensure full quality control and 100% American-made products built to last.
We are currently seeking an experienced Aluminum Die Corrector to join our team. This is a hands-on, highly technical role responsible for correcting and maintaining extrusion tooling that directly impacts the precision and consistency of our aluminum profiles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of die correction, metal flow, and billet behavior, and will play a key role in supporting our long-standing reputation for quality and reliability.

- Repair, maintain, and correct aluminum extrusion dies, including porthole dies, bolsters, rings, and support tooling
- Collaborate with extrusion press operators, quality team, and die vendors to optimize die performance
- Diagnose billet flow and metal behavior issues at the press to guide die corrections
- Review breakthrough and sample profiles to make precise dimensional adjustments
- Perform hands-on die correction, polishing, caustic cleaning, sandblasting, and tooling modifications
- Maintain detailed records in the Die Management Program to track tooling history and performance
- Schedule nitriding and oven cycles to extend die life
- Manage die shop inventory and ensure necessary supplies are stocked
- Operate mills, cranes, caustic systems, and infrared ovens as required
- Aluminum extrusion die correction experience required — not an entry-level role
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on die correction experience (preferably with 6XXX series alloys)
- Strong understanding of extrusion press operations, metal flow, and billet behavior
- Ability to read and interpret extrusion die drawings, including GD&T and tolerance specifications
- Experience with machining equipment, welding tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving die-related production issues on the press
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and operate cranes/forklifts (certification available on-site)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and an effective communicator
- Background in aluminum extrusion manufacturing
- Experience with infrared ovens and caustic system operations
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Experience managing die correction records and performance tracking
