Are you an Energy professional ready to play a role in energy policy and planning? We are currently looking for an Advisor, Energy Policy and Planning to join our team! In this position you will contribute to energy policy planning activities, support various regulatory applications, develop internal policies and procedures, and participate in associated regulatory filings and submissions to government on policy. #joinourteam
What You Will Do
- Read, interpret and analyze energy related policies and regulations and identify impacts for Enbridge and customers.
- Support strategy development including involvement in development of insights, processes and policies around energy transition and residential market development.
- Participate on regulatory filings, including development of evidence and supporting witnesses for Ontario Energy Board regulatory filings/proceedings related to energy policy.
- Participate in energy planning and policy discussions with external partners such as the Independent Electricity System Operator, Ontario Ministry of Energy, Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Canadian Gas Association, etc.
- Provide technical expertise related to energy policy to internal partners including Regulatory, Finance, Customer Care, Government Relations and Public Affairs, etc.
- Coordinate and/or provide advice on energy policy/sector submissions.
- Coordinate working group meetings related to energy policy, planning or other related internal committees. This includes preparing agendas, delivering presentations, and leading and delivering presentations during the meetings.
- Support technical analysis related to energy policy and end use technologies, i.e. building energy modelling, end use technology adoption.
- University degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 4 years of proven directly related experience with a good understanding of the energy sector and landscape within Ontario. For candidates who do not possess a University degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering designation (PEng) is preferred.
- Project management designation is considered an asset.
- Project management, regulatory experience, and/or a background in gas system planning is considered an asset.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
