Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Network Install Lineman to join our infrastructure deployment team. This role involves the installation of aerial AMI network devices. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Install aerial Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Network devices and associated hardware.
•String and secure coaxial cables on poles, towers, and buildings.
•Operate bucket trucks, cable pullers, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
•Perform pole climbing and work at heights using appropriate safety gear.
•Read and interpret construction prints, schematics, and work orders.
•Splice, terminate, and test coaxial and copper cables as needed.
•Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
•Troubleshoot and resolve service issues in coordination with network engineers and technicians.
•Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and site conditions.
Required Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED.
•2+ years of experience in AMI network line work or utility construction.
•Proficiency in aerial and underground cable installation techniques.
•Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to 60 feet.
•Familiarity with fiber optic, Coaxial and copper cabling standards.
•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
•Strong understanding of safety protocols and use of PPE.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with AMI Network systems such as Landis+Gyr, Itron, Sensus, or Silver Spring Networks.
•Experience with Peak Workflow work order management system.
•Experience with GIS/mapping tools and digital work order systems.
•OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Work Environment:
•Outdoor fieldwork in various weather conditions.
•Physically demanding tasks include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
•Travel may be required for regional or project-based assignments.
