As an Accounting Student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments in one of the following areas: Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting, Royalty Accounting, Joint Venture Accounting, Operations Accounting, or Property Accounting. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to ‘kick-start’ a successful career in Accounting!
•Term start and length: September 2025 – 8 months
•Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
•Work schedule: 5 x 2 – 8 hours (Monday – Friday)
Key Accountabilities:
•Process capital, revenue, royalty and expense amounts within the terms of governing agreements
•Prepare reports; journal entries and statements of accounts
•Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts
•Set up and manage a number of oil and gas properties and their transaction files
•Gather, research, enter and confirm data accuracy
•Clarify, investigate and respond to queries and disputes from partners and internal departments
•Process audit queries from outside partners and internal audit
•Contribute to project work
What You Bring to the Role:
•Currently enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree program in Accounting, with a commitment to a career in Accounting
•Attention to detail is critical, as are strong analytical skills with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills
•Familiarity with and understanding of:
+ Accounting concepts and principles
+ Research strategies and analytical thinking
+ Microsoft Excel
