Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator (12-month term) to join our finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate finance, bookkeeping, and financial services within a dynamic organization. The Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining precise financial data, assisting with audits, and supporting budgeting processes to ensure the integrity of our financial operations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial statements.
- Perform month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliations.
- Receive "material received" in our internal accounting system and generate corresponding reports.
- Record bank deposits, clear payments on bank reconciliations and month-end bank entries such as bank fees, etc.
- Depot petty cash - review score cards, post expenses, etc.
- Month-end journal entries and schedules (vending machine inventory, MMSB inventory, Outstanding loads inventory).
- Cover tasks of team members when they are on vacation or out of office.
- Participate and contribute to internal projects as assigned.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 2-5 years of accounting experience; industry or manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Netsuites, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and general computer literacy.
- Strong Communication and organization stills.
- Ability to work independently in a busy operational environment.
