At a Glance:

The Senior Accountant role focuses on Fixed Asset Accounting, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals while maintaining the fixed asset subledger and reconciling it to the general ledger. This position requires collaboration with project managers to accurately track capital project costs and adherence to GAAP and company policies. Responsibilities include preparing schedules and entries, maintaining asset narratives, and identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization. Additionally, the Senior Accountant assists in developing ad hoc reports and analyses to provide insights and recommendations.

What you will do:

- Thorough knowledge and application of Fixed Asset Accounting

- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals

- Reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger and ensure proper cutoff and accuracy.

- Ability to work closely with project managers to track capital project costs and ensure accurate accounting treatment

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and entries

- Ensure adherence to GAAP and company policies regarding capitalization thresholds and depreciation methods

- Maintenance of Fixed Asset group narratives and controls

- Automation Implementation: Identify opportunities for process automation. Design, develop, and implement automated solutions using appropriate software tools, scripting languages, and accounting systems to increase efficiency and reduce manual efforts

- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and propose innovative solutions to streamline workflows, reduce redundancy, and enhance productivity.

- Assist with development of ad hoc reporting and analysis. Analyses are likely to include analysis of trend data, interpretation of data and to provide recommendations

What you need:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting a plus

- Oracle experience a plus

- Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong PC skills

- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

- Strong analytical skills

- Ability to pay close attention to detail

- Excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills

- Self-motivated
