Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing complex accounting transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit activities, assist with software implementations/upgrades and user support, and special projects as needed. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with department leaders to provide key insights into the department financial performance.
Responsibilities
•Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
•Manage and oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
•Fixed Assets both purchase and capital lease, depreciation, and reconcile fixed asset accounts
•Assist with the preparation and submission of personal property tax assessments and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
•Review and process payroll transactions and support related accounting functions.
•Assist with annual audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
•Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential areas for improvement.
•Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
•Mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
•Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support management decision-making.
•Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to management and department leaders.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and provide financial insights.
•Software implementation and infrastructure, software updates/testing/integrations, and user support for proper transactional accounting and process controls for complete and accurate data.
•IT user support, help end users with connecting user drives, printer set ups, website navigation, etc.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
•Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
•Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
•Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Great Plains, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.).
•Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Preferred Skills
•Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and practical application
•Experience with inventory accounting/manufacturing
•Proficient with financial forecasting and budgeting
•Exposure to software implementations, integrations, and user support.
Working Conditions
•Full-time position with standard office hours, though additional hours will be required during peak periods such as month-end or year-end close and tax deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
