The purpose of the chemical engineer internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical and environmental engineering. The intern will be exposed to a variety of projects, activities, and operations that occur within a mineral development and renewable energy business. The intern will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.
- Provides support for the mineral development team
- Conduct research and analysis activities according to applicable regulations, manufacturing processes or other considerations and approve modification of standards, specifications and processes
- Review research, testing, quality control and other operational reports to ensure that quality standards, efficiency and schedules are met
- Prepare reports and technical papers
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
- Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in chemical, mechanical, and environmental engineering
- Prior utility, energy or renewable industry experience helpful
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize patterns in data, information or events, to draw logical conclusions, to evaluate methods and procedures and to make recommendations for actions
- Effective oral and written communication skills to transmit information accurately and understandably
- Software skills to develop spreadsheets for data analysis
- Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer background check and drug screen
