1st Shift Material Handler

We are looking for a dependable, team-oriented individual who is committed to supporting the efficient flow of materials throughout our facility, including operating overhead cranes and other equipment. This position plays a key role in supporting production flow, inventory accuracy, and timely receiving operations. One must be able to perform essential staging for proper material flow, and scrap inventory control to support the press cell operations. This requires meeting the highest degree of accuracy and performing such functions as directed by supervisor. The position entails the understanding of material process flow, shop math, drawings, and specification charts. One will be required to operate overhead cranes, forklifts on the shop. Exercising good judgment for planning and performing tasks and making practical decisions is necessary. This position requires that the individual work independently with minimal supervision, follow company policies, including safety. Some lifting of reasonable weight is involved.

In addition, the individual will maintain legible paperwork such as inspection, historical forms and all other department record keeping requirements.

Responsibilities:

· Safely move raw materials, components, and finished goods to designated areas.

· Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

· Load and off load transports.

· Load and unload trucks and/or material racks.

· Prepare materials for production or shipment.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking.

· Inspect incoming material to inspection criteria.

· Understand material grades, segregate, and control scrap inventory.

· Prepare scrap for pick-up and document shipments.

· Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.

· Collaborate closely with team members to support operational needs.

· Participate in Lean continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma.

· Fluent with English language.

· Proven record of reliability and strong attendance.

· Ability to lift a reasonable weight and work on your feet throughout the shift.

· Forklift experience; crane experience preferred (training available).

· Possess math skills, computer literate.

· Ability to apply written standards to physical materials.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
