Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard, organizing materials and equipment, and assisting with various tasks in support of field operations.
Responsibilities
•
Maintain the yard by keeping it clean, organized, and safe.
•
Operate forklifts and other equipment.
•
Participate in material picking.
•
Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
•
Organize and store materials and equipment in designated areas.
•
Assist with inventory management, including tracking and reporting stock levels.
•
Support crew members and management with various tasks as needed, including preparing materials for job sites.
•
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
•
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project goals are met.
•
Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills and knowledge in utility construction.
Requirements
•
High school diploma or equivalent.
•
Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
•
Knowledge of operating skid steers, forklifts, and small equipment preferred.
•
Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
•
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
•
Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
•
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
•
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
•
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
•
Reliable transportation to work.
•
Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
