From its 10 locations in Western and Northern Canada, Ketek is able to provide services and rental equipment to clients throughout the region’s oil and gas, mining, construction, and municipal sectors.
The Yard Foreman works closely with Maintenance, Rentals, projects and other Ketek groups to ensure equipment is picked, staged, loaded and shipped, and also to receive returning equipment and store it within the yard. Co-ordinating yard operators for movement of equipment between yard and shop locations and to ensure good housekeeping, maintenance and organization of equipment throughout the yard environment. Upon occasion, work outside of regular hours may be required.
- Effectively manage, schedule and prioritize yard orders and personnel
- Co-ordinate yard hands, setting daily tasks and assigning duties
- Picking and staging of requested equipment, providing feedback and assistance to various Ketek groups
- Co-ordinate loading/un-loading operations
- Oversee yard maintenance
- Oversee all shipping and receiving of Rental and Project equipment
- Operate machinery (i.e. forklift, loader, skid steer, crane, manlift) in a safe manner
- Assign training duties to shop personnel for new hires
- Repair and maintain Ketek equipment
- Ensure yard vehicle/equipment inspections are routinely completed
- Inspect equipment for damage when returned from field
- Schedule repair with relevant Ketek divisions, as necessary
- Troubleshoot and diagnose repair of equipment
- Repair, maintain, and service Ketek trucks
- Oversee completion of Pre-Job Safety Instructions/Job Safety and Hazard Assessments and Proactive Safety Reports
- Ensure that yard and facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
- Perform routine housekeeping duties of the yard
- Perform job duties of shipper/receiver, purchasing, and shop foreman in their absence
- Complete required paperwork
- Successfully complete safety training as required on an ongoing basis
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
- Ensure all Ketek work procedures, Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed
- Be considerate of the needs of our community and the environment
- Perform other related duties as required
- Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission Statements

- Minimum 5 High School diploma
- Minimum five years’ mechanical and/or electrical experience
- Minimum two years’ Ketek experience
- Valid driver's license with Driver's Abstract
- Forklift and Loader certificate
- Experience and knowledge of Ketek equipment (or similar)
- Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
- Post-secondary education or trade/technical certificate an asset
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- High level organizational and time management skills
- Ability to use a 2-way radio
- Ability to interact with the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
- Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities, with high level prioritization skills
- Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- May be required to work weekend shifts
- Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
- Carrying, climbing, kneeling, and balancing, therefore a certain amount of strength, dexterity, and alertness is required
