Job Description – Yard Attendant/Runner

Crown Fiber Optics is seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Attendant/Runner to support both yard and field operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized yard, assisting with material handling, performing general labor tasks, and supporting crews by delivering tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites. This role is critical in ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain yard organization, including staging materials, storing equipment, and keeping the area clean and safe.

- Load and unload trucks with tools, equipment, and construction materials.

- Delivering parts, tools, and supplies to field crews to support project.

- Perform basic labor tasks as needed

- Assist with fueling, cleaning, and minor maintenance of small equipment.

- Track and document materials moving in and out of the yard.

- Operate forklifts, skidsteer, and other yard equipment safely (training provided if needed).

- Support Construction Supervisor with reviewing routes in field.

- Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety standards while performing duties.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material, maintenance, yard and site needs.

Qualifications:

- 1+ years of general labor, yard, or warehouse experience preferred (construction/telecom industry a plus). - Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

- Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and equipment.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions.

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Forklift certification (preferred, not required).

- OSHA 10 certification (preferred, not required).

- CDL (a plus, not required).
