Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wireline Field Supervisor to oversee operations on our mining projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and extensive experience in borehole geophysics data acquisition, including comprehensive field troubleshooting abilities, particularly within the mining environment. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing team members, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supervise wireline operations, ensuring they are executed efficiently and safely.
- Work with drilling contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Coordinate field crews and schedule activities.
- Resolve on-site issues and coordinate with clients and drilling companies.
- Liaison between field and operations regarding inventory planning and control.
- Manage the delivery of the necessary services and equipment to conduct data collection and calibration operations.
- Monitors all ongoing operations for compliance with all applicable rules and regulations and ensure that all operations adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
- Develop new tools and processes to help optimize performance through more effectively managing costs.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all reporting and administrative requirements, such as safety reports, daily logging reports, site inductions, change over meetings.
- Perform advanced technical duties, including troubleshooting and calibration of various geophysical instruments.
- Train and mentor technicians in the use of geophysical tools and trouble shooting issues in the field.
- Provide technical knowledge and experience in drilling activities as it relates to ensuring excellent geophysical data.
- Maintain accurate records of logging activities and report to senior management.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Experience operating/troubleshooting logging tools from LIM, ALT, MSI, Robertson.
- Experience operating/troubleshooting Borehole Magnetic Resonance tools.
- Experience operating/troubleshooting trajectory tools from SPT, Veracio, Axis and Icefield.
- Experience operating/troubleshooting drill rig aligners from SPT, Veracio, LITEF.
- Strong understanding of drilling operations and borehole environments.
- Driving experience in challenging and remote conditions, including off-road and extreme weather environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform major repairs on winches (specifically TOP MECA T1000 and T2000) and other essential equipment for smooth field operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to perform required maintenance on field equipment, use measuring tools such as multimeters, meggers, and calipers, and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.
6-Years of on-site experience at a mine or drilling site.
