The Welder Journeyman is responsible for preforming advanced welding tasks using welding techniques to fabricate, assemble and repair metal structure and components for industrial, construction and manufacturing projects. This role requires proficiency in multiple welding methods, blueprint reading, and a commitment to maintaining equipment and ensuring high quality, and safe work.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.

•Adheres to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
•Performs all welding related duties including grinding, housekeeping, shaping component parts, as well as cleaning and checking for defects.
•Operates overhead cranes.
•Completes all assigned data tracking and related forms.
•Follows work procedures and/or visual standard operating procedures.
•Completes work per schedule and within allotted time.
•Learns and implements new welding procedures, systems, and techniques.
•Works safely with little supervision.
•Ensures compliance with Badger’s safety and high service standards in the area.
•Communicates any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
•Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
•Attends and participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
•Education associates degree or a combination of education and/or related work experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
•Must be a registered Alberta apprentice, Alberta Certified Journeyperson, or have an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement.
•Proficient in gas, metal, steel, and arc welding (GMAW) with solid wire and metal core process welding
•Experience in metal core and aluminum welding is an asset.
•Experience in the operation of overhead cranes.
•Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with strong attention to detail.
•Able to work well under pressure in a busy environment; both in a team and independently.
•Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
