Welder/Fabricator - Production

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. This role involves working on construction sites and requires a strong understanding of codes and standards related to welding and fabrication. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal structures and components.

Duties

- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications and drawings.

- Perform Stick welding (SMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and other welding techniques as required.

- Utilize plasma cutting equipment for precise cuts in metal materials.

- Operate cranes safely to lift heavy materials into position for welding or assembly.

- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and standards for safety and quality.

- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure structural integrity and adherence to specifications.

- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to meet project deadlines.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills

- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

- Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards applicable to the industry.

- Experience with calipers and other measuring tools for accurate fabrication.

- Familiarity with ductwork installation processes is a plus.

- Ability to operate rigging equipment safely when lifting heavy materials.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration on construction sites.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
