We’re looking for a Project Coordinator to support our growing Waste Services division. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our values alive in the field—ensuring that as we scale, we continue to lead with care, connection, and community.
We are looking to add a Waste Technician 2 to our team!
Under the supervision of Whitehorse Facility Manager, the Waste Technician Project Labourer must be able to follow verbal instructions well, work with dangerous goods and be able to operate small to large-size equipment, be physically fit and love the outdoors in all weather conditions. Project Waste Technicians are expected to handle waste in a safe, timely and effective manner. This includes but is not limited to: Identifying waste, repackaging waste for shipment in accordance to TDG, consolidating waste as required, loading and unloading trucks, and working on physically demanding projects.
- Responsible for Identifying, handling and preparing waste in accordance with legislation and TDG regulations;
- Providing great customer interactions, both at KBL and while representing KBL;
- Completing equipment inspections and doing daily maintenance as needed to ensure safe operations of equipment;
- Providing Supervisor with all required information to complete paperwork;
- Filling out load sheets and load inventories;
- Loading and unloading trailers and customer drop offs;
- Ensure Safe Work Practices (SWP’s), follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s), reporting near misses and all incidents to Supervisor;
- Filling out consolidation reports for all consolidation;
- Able to work unsupervised in remote areas;
- Able to confidently operate small to large sized equipment safely and confidently;
- And be willing to travel as needed to completed project related work.
- Forklift;
- Rubber Tired Loader;
- Pallet jack;
- Skid Steer;
- Various types of processing equipment; and
- Various hand tools.
- This position requires standing for extended periods, in addition to walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving parts up to 55 lbs.
- There is a possibility of cuts, bruises, straining, disease and /or severe injury if safe work practices are not followed.
- Work is primarily carried out outdoors, therefore there can be exposure to extreme weather in the winter months. There can be dust, noise, mud, water, smoke, and bacteria exposure.
- Work experience within the environmental construction industry is an asset
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to maintain strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate in a positive, and professional manner
- Must be able and willing to complete tasks/projects as directed by Management to achieve company and project objectives
- Valid and current Class 5 Driver’s License
