Assist the Shipping Supervisor in all operations within the Shipping department, including safety, quality, and production.
- Knowledge of Shipping functions is required – i.e., Creating Bill of Ladings, Setting up customer deliveries, etc.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and trucking companies, via email, in-person, and over the phone.
- Data entry into SAP or a willingness to learn.
- Basic reading, writing, math, and excellent communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computers, willing to train.
- Microsoft Excel or willingness to learn.
- Must possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Assist in the movement of completed parts within the shipping area.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Loads trailers with outgoing finished goods to customer specifications or requirements.
- Secures parts to pallets by use of the wrapping machine or banding machine to ensure parts will get to the customer undamaged while ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Assist the Shipping Supervisor in communication with customers and trucking companies to line up shipments to be shipped on time, per the production schedule.
- Ship small packages per UPS and FedEx using their company operating systems.
- Assures all safety practices in the shipping area are being performed to maintain an accident-free work area.
- Able to drive a box truck or a regular truck
- Such other duties as are assigned from time to time.
- 100% quality parts going to customers.
- Maintain good housekeeping, product organization, etc., in the shipping area.
- Maintain compliance with all required documentation for shipments going out of the shipping area.
- Maintain safe working practices.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
