Warehouse Manager

Job description

We are searching for a strong distribution center manager for our warehouse in Dyer, IN. We are searching for a motivated and experienced manager to run the facility. A minimum of five years of management of a warehouse/distribution center experience is required. We are looking for a reliable team player and hard worker.

Duties will include:

- Shipping and receiving material accurately

- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility

- Working with contractors to always keep the facility in top shape

- Operating forklifts

- Maintaining forklifts and all equipment in satisfactory conditions

- Be able to lift heavy material

- Work with the sales staff to answer any questions they have including but not limited to product condition, order statuses, following special instructions.

- Knowledge of using UPS World ship

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office

- Knowledge in writing Bills of Lading and preparing pallets for shipment.

- Willing to travel during the first months of employment to learn company procedures and protocol from other distribution centers.

- Hire and train personnel to follow company procedures.

- Cross train employees so they are able to function independently in the event of a person’s absence

- Work with the Headquarters to minimize and control all costs pertaining to electricity, water, improvement projects, shipping costs, etc.
